Qualified Participants: 15-24 years old, currently enrolled in an accredited Philippine School/College/University.
Contest Period: November 28, 2012 to March 19, 2013.
Contest Exemptions: Employees of Directories Philippines Corporation, Philippine Long Distance, their consultants, advertising agencies, promo agencies, government and private partners, sponsors and relatives up to the third degree of affinity or consanguinity are disqualified to join the contest.
Contest Mechanics
All participants must submit their entries at www.visualarts.ph. They must completely fill out the online entry form for the contest.
All entries may be submitted starting November 28, 2012.
A participant may submit a maximum of three (3) entries.
Image adjustment (minimal color correction, cropping) is allowed. However, image alterations will not be allowed.
No watermark must be placed on the photo.
Photo must be taken with a digital camera and the digital format.
Must have been taken within two (2) years before date of entry.
Must not have won in any previous photo contest.
Must not have been published previously in a publication or online.
Must not show the Philippine flag or Philippine currency
Participant must attest that the photo/s is/are original work created solely by the participant and he/she owns the right to the photo/s and does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, nominal rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim or interest in the photo/s.
Important Notice:
If the photograph/s contain any material or elements that are not owned by the participant and/or subject to the rights of third parties, such as, but not limited to any identifiable person/s, any artwork or copyrighted material, any private property or government property/office, the participant is responsible for obtaining, prior to submission of the photo/s, any and all releases and consents necessary to permit the exhibition and use of the photo/s in connection with this competition. If any person appearing in the photo/s is below 18 years of age, the signature of a parent or legal guardian is required on each release/permit.
All entries must be uploaded in digital format at www.visualarts.ph, together with a completely filled-out and electronically signed online application form for the contest, which is also found in www.visualarts.ph. In the application form, the participant should clearly indicate information about the photographer (full name, telephone number/s, email address, residential address, date of birth, school and location/ address, course, year to graduate) and information about the entry (title, date of shoot, location of shoot, camera used, description of the photo and/or how it relates to the theme).
Submission of entries will begin on November 28, 2012 until February 22, 2013 at 11:59pm. Any entry submitted after the deadline will not qualify for the contest.

All winners (Top 50 Finalists, People’s Choice for Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, Top 4 Major Winners) will permit the free use of his/her name and/or photograph, as well as the name of his/her school, in any publicity, broadcast, telecast, or online account in relation to this competition. All winners will agree to transfer ownership of their winning entry to DPC who may use the photograph for any purpose it may see fit, such as, but not limited to the covers of the DPC-PLDT telephone directories, exhibits, publicity and other advertising and merchandising materials.
Non-compliance to the above specifications and rules and regulations stipulated will automatically disqualify the participant. By submitting an entry/s, each participant agrees to the official rules and regulations and warrants compliance with all the requirements set forth.

The top 50 entries with the highest number of points/ scores from the five (5) qualified judges will become the finalists. In case of tied points/scores, the judges will eliminate based on the criteria until only 50 finalists are left. Decision of the judges is final and binding.
Elimination Round/Top 50 Finalists:

The 50 finalists will be notified, the following day, Wednesday, February 27, 2013 by DPC via the email address and telephone number/s they indicated in the application form.
Upon notification, they will be required to submit the following to Directories Philippines Corporation, 15th Floor DPC Place, 2322 Chino Roces Ave., Makati City, Philippines 0788, c/o Mr. Ruben V. Tangco, by Tuesday, March 5, 2013, up to 5:00 PM:
Properly labeled CD/DVD containing the high resolution (at least 10 megapixels) file of the entry
Hard copy of the online application signed by the finalist and countersigned by the Dean of the College
Photocopy of a valid School ID or Certificate of Registration
Signed release form/s and/or permit/s if any
Failure to submit any of the requirements above will disqualify the participant from receiving his/her prize as top 50 and from moving to the next judging rounds. The finalists who comply with the requirements are qualified to compete for the People’s Choice Awards and the Major Individual Awards.
All finalists who have complied with the requirements will be invited to the Awarding Day on March 20, 2013, to witness the announcement of winners and receive their prize/s. A valid school ID must be presented to claim their prize/s. Venue of the Awarding will be announced later.
People’s Choice: Tuesday, March 19, 2013
The finalists who have complied with the finalist requirements will be posted with the region of the school of origin (Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao) indicated in www.visualarts.ph from March 7, 2013 to March 14, 2013, up to 11:59 PM, and the site visitors will be invited to vote online, by region, for their most preferred photograph.
There will be one (1) winner per region, i.e. Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, for a total of three (3) winners. The most number of votes garnered through online voting per region of origin wins the People’s Choice. The votes will be collated and tabulated on March 15, 2013 and, in case of tied votes, an extra day of online voting will be allotted on March 16, 2013 to break the tie. In case of another tie, the judges in the final round of judging on March 19, 2013 will select the winner to break the tie. Decision of the judges is final and binding.
Final collation and tabulation of the three (3) winners for People’s Choice will be conducted on Tuesday, March 19, 2013.

The final scores will be 90% of the five (5) judges’ scores (based on the above criteria) and 10% online voting scores. The top four (4) entries with the highest number of points/ scores will become the major winners. In case of tied points/ scores, the judges will decide the ranking based on the criteria to break the tie. Decision of the judges is final and binding.
All winners who have complied with the finalist requirements may claim their prize on Awarding Day on March 20, 2013. A valid school ID must be presented to claim their prize. Venue of the Awarding will be announced later.
The corresponding school of the top four (4) winners will also win a prize. An authorized representative of the school may claim their prize on Awarding Day on March 20, 2013. A valid school ID must be presented to claim their prize.

NOTIFICATION: Winners will be notified by DPC via the email address and telephone number/s they indicated in the application form.
AWARDING OF MAJOR PRIZES: Individual winners and People’s Choice awardees will be invited to receive their prizes at recognition ceremonies to be announced in March 2013.
ALTERNATIVE MODE OF PRIZE REDEMPTION: In the event that a winner cannot physically claim his/her prize at the recognition ceremony nearest his/her school or residence, the prize may be redeemed at the following offices of Directories Philippines Corporation:
